Not only was the project successfully completed two years ahead of schedule (2003 instead of 2005) and the complete sequence of the human genome was published. As a direct result of the project, more than 965 billion US dollars have been generated so far. Salaries of more than $ 293 billion were paid and jobs created for more than 4.3 million working years [20] .
